American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU position requiring prior neonatal travel experience and NM/compact RN licensure.

• Level III NICU setting caring for neonates from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required to like units within scope, with brief orientation provided

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP certifications required; STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, blood and blood product administration, arterial line management, central line care, and central line blood draws
• Experience with UAC and UVC management
• Proficient in administering emergency medications including anti-seizure drugs, antibiotics/antivirals, IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants
• Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and conscious sedation
• Skilled in APGAR scoring, developmental care, patient/family teaching, phlebotomy, and thermoregulation
• Experience assisting with lumbar puncture and managing seizure disorders and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket) preferred
• Respiratory skills including Bubble CPAP, HFNC, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, Vapotherm, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Experience with chest tube management, meconium aspiration, nitric oxide (iNO), and ETT/NT suctioning
• Cardiovascular skills including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience with neonatal sepsis workup and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience attending high-risk deliveries preferred

• Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including respiratory, cardiovascular, and infectious disease management for critically ill neonates
• Support breastfeeding and handling of breast milk, and manage feedings via bottle, breast, or gavage
• Monitor and manage blood glucose, hyperbilirubinemia, and phototherapy needs
• Manage placement and care of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
• No RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• First-time travelers may be considered per position guidelines
