Garden Aide (Pay: $13.00 hourly) – Campus Main, Albuquerque, NM. Department:
Off Campus Work Study (454F).

The Desert Oasis Teaching Garden at Albuquerque Academy is an experiential garden demonstrating soil health, water conservation, and climate adaptability in the desert Southwest using regenerative agricultural practices. It provides experiential learning opportunities for students and supplies produce for the dining halls and community donations.

• Assist with general maintenance of the garden, outlying landscaped spaces, tools and supplies.
• Perform some office functions as necessary.

• Assist with maintenance of garden and landscaped spaces (weeding, planting, harvesting, use of power tools).
• Clean and maintain tools and supplies.
• Set up and clean up for classroom teaching and other events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

A. Education

• High School diploma.

B. Experience

• Experience working in a garden or farm is preferred.
• Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, precipitation, etc.).

C. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.

• Predominantly outdoors on a small regenerative agriculture farm.
• Exposure to sun, elements, and insects throughout all seasons.
• Some indoor work in shared office space.
