Assistant Manager – Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, began with seven Applebee’s locations in 1999 and grew to become the largest Applebee’s franchisee in the world. Today we operate over 460 Applebee’s restaurants across 24 states. As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager you will engage in all day‑to‑day operations and ensure guests and staff share a passion for the experience.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Ensure timely, friendly service in accordance with company guidelines and achieved objectives.
- Cultivate a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
- Respond immediately to all verbal guest complaints.
- Prioritize guest contact and complete required table visits per standards.
- Maintain departmental inventory levels.
- Perform line checks to meet product preparation and presentation standards.
- Effectively schedule employees to meet sales demands.
- Implement and maintain effective safety and security programs.
- Lead restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
- Perform routine maintenance and report needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
- Recruit and refer potential team members and management candidates.
- Promote Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
- Support staff development through orientation, training sessions, meetings and performance documentation.
- Provide regular feedback and work with employees on areas of development.
- Document situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
- Control costs in the assigned department.
- Comply with all local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Drive weekly food and liquor inventories and submit accurate daily paperwork.
- Maintain sanitation standards that meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
- Model leadership for managers and employees.
- Develop proficiency with store‑related technology.
- Be willing and able to work in all positions, including cooking, bar, seating and bartending, as needed.
- Use the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills.
- At least 2‑3 years restaurant management experience.
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
- Work various shifts, including weekends.
- Stand and move for up to ten hours a shift.
- Safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Read, write, and use fine motor skills for small tools and equipment.
