Job Overview

The Distributor Sales Representative – Outside position sells food products and supplies to food service establishments, driving sales and building customer relationships within the Albuquerque, NM territory.

Sales Territory: Albuquerque, NM

Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine visits to customer sites to ensure purchasing levels are adequate.
  • Share information about additional products to optimize sales.
  • Resolve outstanding issues with customers for satisfaction.
  • Research newspapers, business directories and other sources for potential client leads.
  • Network to obtain referrals.
  • Make calls to potential customers to expand the customer base within the assigned territory.
  • Complete required administrative functions to ensure sales data and percentages are accurate.
  • Perform collection duties to keep customer accounts current.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related business field preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • At least three years recent food service sales experience selling to restaurants for a major distributor.
  • Valid driver's license for the state of work and no more than three driving violations or a DUI conviction in the last three years; meet insurance requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internal applications.
  • Ability to calculate sales figures, commissions, discounts and volume.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; works well with others.
  • Multi-tasking ability in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving and negotiating skills.
  • Customer‑focused and enthusiastic self‑starter with strong work ethic.
  • Pass required drug and physical screening.
