Air Force Civilian Service is seeking a full‑time Special Access Program (SAP) Security Specialist M) to work in the Nuclear Technology & Integration Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. This position has a typical 2025 salary range of $89,853 - $138,486.

Base pay range: $89,853.00/yr - $/yr.

• Serve as the NT Government SAP Security Officer and Special Security Representative.
• Manage directorate physical, personnel, information, and industrial security requirements.
• Direct activities of assigned contractor personnel.
• Implement processes, train directorate personnel, and review or assist in the preparation of acquisition security.
• Evaluate new concepts, security regulations, and ideas of technical and management importance.
• Provide policy, guidance, and associated training for Information Protection disciplines.
• Manage facility certification and plans for future projects.
• Examine security initiatives, protection measures, and processes for application across platform, system, and organizational lines.
• Develop and prioritize organizational security and information protection performance goals and mission objectives.
• Develop operating procedures and plans, acquisition security concept, and implementation plans.
• Identify and validate mission security requirements through evaluation or development of security elements of applicable program.
• Provide briefings and keep NT Directorate, Division Chiefs and assigned personnel informed on security programs.

• Demonstrated experience in Personnel Security.
• Broad technical background and related AF operational experience desired.
• Ability to problem solve through innovative approaches.
• Experience in analytical red‑teaming, vulnerability analysis, root cause analysis, or risk analysis desired.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Application of critical thinking skills, risk management, configuration management, and decision analysis.

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Must be TS/SCI eligible.
• At least 5 years of experience with multiple security disciplines.
• Knowledge of government contractual practices for Air Force acquisition programs.
• Knowledge of program protection, physical, system, information, industrial, personnel, operations security concepts.
• Extensive knowledge of organization’s missions, functions, and structure.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, and evaluate security programs.
• Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish professional working relationships with coworkers and customers.
• Knowledge of nuclear system military standards and governing documents.
• Must handle and safeguard sensitive/classified information in accordance with regulations.
• Compliance with Ethics in Government Act, OGE Form 450.
• Drug tested and subject to random testing.
• May require up to 25% travel.
