Service Contract Act (SCA) Position
Hourly Rate: $17.20
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The On-Call Guard I reports to the Safety, Security and Transportation Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position.
- The On-Call Guard I is responsible for enforcing all laws, rules and policies authorized by the Safety and Security Department.
- Enforces all authorized laws, rules, and regulations.
- The On-Call Guard I performs alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
- Provide vehicle transportation support under the direction of the supervisor in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
- Aids and assists visitors, students, and staff.
- Performs building security and safety checks.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prefer 1 year of experience in a security department, law enforcement agency, or related security duties.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
- Preferably possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Must pass a drug screen in accordance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Additional Requirements: Knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques, law enforcement procedures, and maintaining CPR/FA Certification are preferred. Ability to obtain a bus driver's license. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to operate office equipment and drive an automobile. Ability to interact effectively with trainees and facility staff.
