Summary

Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Part‑Time Maintenance Technician at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, NM. The role is responsible for general repairs, maintenance, painting and other miscellaneous tasks in the arena and theatre.

Position Overview

Responsible for performing routine facility maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing). Perform general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures such as wall switches, outlets, bulbs, fuses, and kitchen appliances using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair facility support equipment.
  • Perform minor carpentry repairs such as sheetrock installation and repair.
  • Perform minor to moderate plumbing repairs, including leak repair in toilets and sinks and unclogging toilets.
  • Complete work orders efficiently and timely.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of assigned equipment and systems.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety or damage concerns, or loss of property promptly to supervisor.
  • Enter preventive maintenance tasks into the assigned database.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC techniques and systems.
  • Ability to use hands, fingers, and arms to perform tasks.
  • Ability to hear clearly voices, alarms, bells, and horns (at least 85 dB) and to speak clearly and audibly.
  • Ability to understand and follow simple directions communicated orally and in writing.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple supervisory and management staff.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools common to the construction trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and instructions.
  • Requires ability to visually inspect and distinguish colors.
  • Familiar with standard construction industry concepts, practices, and procedures, including operation of tools and equipment according to established safety.
  • Maintenance skills must include drywall, fixture replacement and repair, paint, ceiling tile cutting and replacement, and minor furniture repair.
  • Two years prior experience preferred.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently with machinery.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule.
Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma/GED required;
Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or relevant field is a plus. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired.

Physical Demands

The physical demands include moving around the facility, standing for long hours during events, and walking or running up and down ladders or moving from one building area to another. Tasks may be performed inside or outside the building as needed by events.
