This position includes direction, coordination, and oversight of a crew of 2-8 employees or subcontractors across utility construction operations such as trench & plow, aerial, drilling/bore, asphalt, conduit, and machine operation. The foreman is responsible for overall safety, materials, reporting, customer interaction, leadership, employee communication, and productivity. The foreman must interface frequently with customers and city inspectors, coordinate pre‑construction meetings, maintain safety and production records, perform as‑builds, assist with permits and locates, and serve as a leader for all crews.
Key Responsibilities- Shoveling, digging, and operating construction equipment.
- Operating excavation equipment and transporting it as needed.
- Oversight over work direction within a crew or subcontractors.
- Assisting in securing site safety and employees.
- General maintenance and utility installation/repair.
- Assisting with as‑builds, ensuring attention to detail and high quality work.
- May assist supervisor in administrative tasks related to hiring and interviewing employees.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years of work‑related experience in utility construction, telecommunications, or laborer‑related work.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; CDL Class “A” preferred.
- Background check and drug screening clearance.
- Must be able to attend all required training.
- Ability to work overtime, after hours, weekends, on‑call, nights, and holidays as needed.
- Travel within the state or overnight as necessary.
- Regular and timely attendance is essential.
- Proven leadership experience directing workflow and producing high quality results.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Strong reasoning, mathematical, and language skills.
- Ability to read, understand, write reports, and communicate with customers and vendors.

Hourly wage: $28.00 – $38.00, depending on experience.
