Position Summary:
Plan, coordinate and perform electrical and facility maintenance operations within assigned area; ensure uninterrupted hospital electrical operations by promoting preventive and predictive maintenance; lead and/or guide the work of lower level staff as required. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
- MAINTAIN - Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures, tests and repairs on applicable electrical equipment, motor control centers, automatic transfer switches, ground fault systems, emergency distribution systems and equipment within assigned area
- REPAIRS - Ensure repairs and services are completed in a timely manner as prescribed by the Facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- MONITOR - Monitor and troubleshoot performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement by using drawings and electrical test equipment; relocate electrical devices for office or equipment modification
- INSTALL - Replace and/or upgrade existing equipment for safety or energy efficiency
- EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES - Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote workplace safety
- GUIDE - Lead, guide, and/or train lower level staff in applicable procedures and techniques
- GOALS - Ensure compliance with department and hospital goals, objectives, policies and procedures; participate in the development of the department budget, recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures
- SHIFTS - Required to be on-call and rotate according to assigned schedule
- RELATED WORK - Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
