The objective of the Space Development group is to provide innovative technology solutions to ensure our Nation achieves and maintains space superiority in a multi-domain conflict. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to develop space combat power and multi-domain simulation software that will support force structure planning, Digital Test and Training – Synthetic Environment, Joint Combatant Command analysis, operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems.

This role will be on-site at Kirtland AFB.

• Collaborate with the team using Confluence, Discourse, Git Lab, and Jira
• Perform code reviews and ensure high-quality standards
• Partner with government leadership to align objectives
• Capture customer requirements and feedback
• Provide status updates and progress reports to leadership and customers
• Conduct multidisciplinary research to support modeling and simulation goals
• Contribute to software architecture and team vision discussions
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug space simulation software

• 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience
• Strong proficiency in C++, including compiling, linking, and debugging
• Successful completion of a technical coding challenge in C++
• Hands‑on experience with agent‑based, event‑driven modeling and simulation (constructive simulation experience preferred)
• Experience with space systems and concepts (coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation, etc.)
• Ability to analyze complex challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions under pressure
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top‑Secret/SCI clearance

• Proficiency in Python, including embedded Python applications
• Knowledge of space domain awareness and space combat power
• Background in math or physics
• Familiarity with parallel software development
• Familiarity with U.S. and Allied space enterprise positions
