We are looking for a Basketball Referee!

New Mexico Sports & Wellness is Albuquerque's leading upscale athletic, aquatics, tennis, and family fitness club, with 5 convenient locations. Our clubs support the lifestyles of busy professionals, families, health enthusiasts and those who simply strive to be more active by providing a wide spectrum of unique fitness and wellness services.

Our Basketball Referees are responsible for keeping accurate scores for league game in play. While being an official who watches a game or match closely to ensure that the rules are adhered to and (in some sports) to arbitrate on matters arising from the play.

• Create successful programs and build community relationships.
• Commit to 8-10 hours per week working league programs and completing administrative duties.
• Decide disputable matters according to established regulations.
• Make calls and awards penalties according to regulations.
• Control beginning and ending of play, and time outs during the game.
• Observes actions of participants to detect infractions of rules.
• Eject game participants for serious infractions.
• Deal with conflict resolution.

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) is required.
• You have one year of previous Referee and scorekeeping experience in basketball;
• You have the ability to communicate effectively in high pressure situations.
• You have a CPR & First aid certification is preferred, however this is not required.
• You have thorough knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.
• You have training in basketball officiating and league referee experience is a plus.
• You have excellent leadership, customer service and verbal communication skills a must.
