Learning Support Assistant - Specialist SEN School Cheshire Countryside
Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role within specialist education?
A charming SEN school set within the beautiful Cheshire countryside is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous experience working within specialist education settings who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
The school caters for students aged 11-16 with a range of additional and complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, sensory needs, and associated neurological conditions. Staff work within a nurturing, structured, and highly supportive environment where students are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals to help pupils achieve their individual learning and EHCP targets while promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support
Support students with ASC, PMLD, and complex needs
Assist with communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff
Help create a calm, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Support with personal care where required
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have previous experience within SEN or specialist school settings (essential)
Be patient, resilient, and adaptable
Have strong communication and teamwork skills
Be passionate about inclusive education and student progress
Hold a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
