We are searching for a professional, motivated Band 8a Dental Technician to join our supportive and friendly teams at Defence Centre for Rehabilitative Dentistry (DCRD), dental laboratory.

This is a pivotal role within DPHC, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality dental appliances and prosthetics to rehabilitate dentally injured Service personnel.

As the Dental Laboratory Manager, you will lead and direct all aspects of laboratory operations, including workflow management, quality assurance, compliance with Ministry of Defence (MOD) and National Health Service (NHS) standards, and the supervision and development of a team of dental technicians. A comprehensive laboratory technician skillset, including the production of dental implant prosthesis, is essential to insure that you can deliver the technical aspects of the role.

• Construct and oversee the production of tooth and dental implant supported appliances, prosthetics, and orthodontic devices.
• Provide technical expertise and advice to clinicians and stakeholders.
• Lead and manage the dental laboratory team, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
• Manage laboratory resources, budgets, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure the laboratory complies with all MOD and National standards for construction of dental prostheses.

• A Dental Technician degree qualification or other recognised Dental Technician qualification with specialist trade experience to degree level is required.
• Current full General Dental Council registration including details on any current, spent or impending restrictions to practice. If not currently held, you will have to obtain this prior to commencing in post.

• Significant experience in dental laboratory management and leadership.
• Strong knowledge of dental materials, techniques, digital workflows and dental implants.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) and Computer‑Aided Manufacturing (CAM) (CAD/CAM) technology and digital dentistry.
