Utility Arborist - South East

Base location: Petersfield, Aldershot, Basingstoke, Portsmouth

Role: Arborist / Tree‑cutter (fully mobile and predominantly field based, within 30 minutes commute of listed depots)

Salary: £29,504 – £34,757 plus benefits supporting finances, wellbeing, and family

Benefits:

• 37 hour working week
• Up to £4,442 for overtime and up to £3,820 for standby – potential extra £8,262 per year (subject to qualifications)

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

We are looking for an Arborist/Tree‑cutter to join our busy team. Working with a highly skilled team, you will manage trees & vegetation near our distribution network, evaluating, preparing, and carrying out tree cutting works safely across a variety of sites. You will help minimise power‑cut risks by cutting or trimming trees that threaten our equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tree cutting and maintenance around power lines and other critical infrastructure
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and company safety culture
• Collaborate with team members to adapt to changing business and project priorities
• Maintain accurate records of work and equipment usage

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Previous experience in tree cutting, forestry or arboriculture
• Relevant NPTC certificate units for chainsaw use; additional NPTC, UAs, or similar qualifications preferred
• Enthusiasm, flexibility, and willingness to travel away from home as required
• Experience working with power lines; climbing experience a plus
• Strong commitment to safety, embedding company guidelines into all activities

Travel is required; candidates must hold a current driving licence.
