A vacancy has arisen for a Business Support Assistant to support the Specialist Children Services team by providing a full range of administration tasks including the provision of dedicated secretarial support. This will include updating systems (databases, spreadsheets, filing), typing including audio typing and the production of complex reports.
The shift pattern for this post are to be confirmed. The post holder will be based within the Vale of Leven Hospital. As a member of the administration team, the post holder will provide the highest quality secretarial and administration service possible within the SCS team, ensuring that the organisation’s standards are met. This is an important role which requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with an understanding of the area of responsibility.
Workload is generated by the clinical caseload and professional roles of the multi‑disciplinary team/multi‑agency team. The post holder is expected to prioritise workload on a day to day basis and to demonstrate a degree of initiative when dealing with enquiries both face to face and on the telephone. The post holder will be a proficient typist, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly word and excel.
Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential. The post holder experience of working in a secretarial/clerical background (preferably NHS). Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous.
