This is a full‑time post of 37 hours per week. The shift pattern would be Monday – Thursday, 0900‑1700, Fri 0900‑1630.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist in the Speech and Language Therapy Team within the Community Older People’s Team, West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership. This post will be based in the Vale of Leven Hospital, Alexandria. You will work within a friendly supportive team of one Speech and Language Therapist and one Clinical Support Worker.
The post covers a varied adult caseload, supporting people with communication and swallowing disorders. You will work across various sites, including in‑patients, out‑patient clinics, care homes, home visits, Attend Anywhere online appointments and telephone reviews. Given the wide nature of this post, a high level of flexibility is required. You will lead and take part in patient groups, such as Laryngectomy groups, communication support groups and other groups as appropriate.
You may attend ward MDTs as required. You will work closely with the CSW to provide programmes of care for patients.
You will provide training for staff as appropriate. Experience in working in Head & Neck and Laryngectomy is desirable. Experience of Care Aims is desirable. You should be a member of HCPC and RCSLT. You will work within a multi‑disciplinary team and attend peer review groups, as well as staff meetings. A car driver will be required for this post. Clinical supervision will be provided.
