Senior Staff Nurse - Older Peoples Services

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for a motivated and compassionate Deputy Ward Manager to join our dedicated nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity to combine hands-on clinical care with leadership responsibilities, supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while helping to develop and inspire colleagues.

• Vale of Leven Hospital
• 12 hour shifts, between Monday to Friday
• Permanent, full-time

• Support the Ward Manager in the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the ward or department
• Lead, coordinate and evaluate high-quality evidence-based nursing care for a defined patient group
• Supervise, support and develop registered nurses, healthcare support workers and learners within the clinical team
• Contribute to staff rostering, sickness absence management and effective workforce planning
• Participate in recruitment, appraisal processes and the development of personal development plans for staff
• Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive environment for patients, families, carers and colleagues
• Ensure effective use of resources, equipment and clinical systems while maintaining professional and regulatory standards

• First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
• Post-registration nursing experience
• Relevant post-registration qualification or equivalent experience within the specialty area
• Demonstrable clinical expertise with the ability to deliver and lead safe, effective patient care
• Strong leadership and people management skills with experience supporting and developing colleagues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to use sound judgement, work independently and contribute to service improvement and organisational objectives
