Automotive Service Technician role at Walker Automotive. Basepay range
$35,000.00/yr - $/yr
Responsibilities- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional services needed and provide time estimates for repairs.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Execute repairs under manufacturer specifications for warranty work.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow safety regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-year college degree in vehicle maintenance/automotive technology preferred
- Strong automotive background
- Strong teamwork skills
- Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check
- Valid driver’s license free from major infractions required
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with several odors present.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs regularly.
- Must be able to inspect vehicles to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
