Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Alexandria, LA or Baton Rouge, LA

Ratcliff is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager who knows how to take ownership of a project, lead a team, and keep all the moving pieces headed in the same direction.

This is a role for someone who can see the big picture without losing sight of the details - someone who understands that a successful project isn't just about getting it built. It's about managing the budget, protecting the schedule, solving problems, communicating well, building strong relationships, and delivering a finished product everyone can be proud of.

Who is Ratcliff?

Ratcliff is more than a name in construction. We are a nearly century-strong company built on great relationships, quality work, and people who take pride in what they do. Headquartered in Central Louisiana, Ratcliff has built a longstanding reputation in commercial construction while continuing to grow, evolve, and invest in our people.

Our Core Values spell RATCLIFF and define how we work, how we treat people, and what we expect from one another:

Relationships. Attitude. Teamwork. Commitment. Leadership. Integrity. Family. Forward.

They aren't just words on a wall. They guide how we show up for our clients, our coworkers, our communities, and each other.

Through Great Relationships, We Build Great Things!

What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll have responsibility for your projects from preconstruction and planning through closeout. You'll work closely with Superintendents, project teams, owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to make sure projects are delivered safely, successfully, and in line with Ratcliff's standards.

You'll be expected to:

  • Take ownership of overall project performance, including budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, contracts, scopes, commitments, and performance
  • Partner closely with the Superintendent to keep field and office operations aligned
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear, consistent communication with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Identify potential issues early and take action before they become larger problems
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, documentation, and project closeout
  • Monitor project financials and make informed decisions that protect both the project and the company
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project partners
  • Hold yourself and others accountable while contributing to a team-focused environment
  • Represent Ratcliff professionally and uphold our standards throughout every phase of the project
What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is experienced, accountable, and comfortable taking the lead.

The right person can make decisions, have difficult conversations when necessary, and keep a project moving without needing someone else to constantly tell them what comes next. At the same time, they understand that great construction is a team effort and that relationships matter.

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have proven experience managing commercial construction projects
  • Understand the financial side of construction and can confidently manage budgets, forecasts, costs, and change
  • Are organized and detail-oriented while still keeping sight of overall project objectives
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and leadership
  • Take initiative and follow through on commitments
  • Approach problems with a solutions-focused mindset
  • Are comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of the outcome
  • Value teamwork and know how to build productive working…
