ResponsibilitiesPediatrix Medical Group, in partnership with Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital (RWCH), is seeking dedicated and compassionate Neonatologists to join our growing team in Alexandria, Louisiana on a per diem basis. This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a true work‑life balance with full time providers on a 7‑on/7‑off schedule and 24/7 in‑house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) coverage.

- 34‑bed, Level III NICU – diverse acuity and case variety
- Collaborative 2 Neonatologist / 4 NNP model
- NNPs in-house 24 hours a day
- Home call for Neonatologists after rounds
- 1,500–2,000 deliveries annually
- Newborn nursery rounds
- NNP‑led transport team (physician covers in‑house during transports)
You’ll be part of a collegial, evidence‑based team focused on quality‑driven protocols and continuous improvement in neonatal care.
About the Facility:
Located within Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital:
- Central Louisiana’s largest and most advanced NICU
- The region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- A 19‑bed pediatric unit
, 29‑bed well‑baby nursery
, and 26‑bed OB/post‑partum unit

Pediatrix does cover your travel expenses (round‑trip flight/rental car or mileage and lodging) for those who reside outside a commutable distance from the practice. We also cover your malpractice insurance for this W‑2 per diem position.
