Mortgage Loan Originator Role:Effectively carry out the essential duties and responsibilities in a manner that consistently demonstrates Heart of Louisiana's mission and core values in a positive manner.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:- Supports Heart of Louisiana's mission and values. Shows professionalism, empathy and respect in all interactions with members, interna and external.
- Exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently and manage a diverse workload.
- Recommends and develops process improvements and procedures to enhance productivity and improve service.
- Maintains knowledge of regulations appropriate for position, (i.e., Regulation Z and X, RESPA, Safe Act, HMDA etc.), and attends all training as it relates to position related regulations.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with other employees. Maintains open and respectful communication with other departments.
- Responsible for personal development through training, collaboration, and teamwork.
Skills:
Experience
At least five years of experience in mortgage lending. Must be registered with NMLS.
EducationBachelor's degree in business administration and/or finance. MLO preferred.
Interpersonal SkillsWork involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other SkillsExperience with Encompass and/or Meridianlink Mortgage LOS preferred.
Physical RequirementsWork requires sitting for the majority of the day. Work also requires occasional lifting of up to 36 pounds. Occasional bending, squatting reaching and kneeling to access credit union records.
