Shift: 7A - 7P

Alexandria, LA

This role is situated in a Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg unit with the following specifications:

• Number of Beds: 36
• Staffing: 49 staff members
• Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians, and 1 Secretary
• Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians
• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 6:1

The unit utilizes a variety of medical equipment including:

• IV Pumps
• Wound Vacuums
• SCD Pumps
• Kangaroo Pumps
• Chest Tubes
• Telemetry Equipment
• PCA Pumps
• Bipap Machines
• Epidurals

The unit operates on an Electronic Medical Record system for streamlined patient management.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Must Have:
  • Med-Surg Experience
  • Team Player
  • Critical Thinking Skills
• Preferred:
  • Prioritization Skills
  • Time Management Skills

Typical procedures conducted in the unit include:

• Wound Vac Changes
• Wound Care
• IV Insertions
• Insertion of Indwelling Foley Catheters

We are looking for individuals who are willing to work collaboratively as a part of a team.

• Active Nursing License
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification

Possible floating to 6A, 3A, 3 South, 4 South.

Ceil Blue scrubs are required.

Please note:

sweatshirts and crocs are not permitted.

Shifts will include every other weekend, with on-call duties when census is low.
