Finance Manager (Project Management) JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Manager provides critical financial leadership and accounting expertise to complex operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is accountable for cost accounting, financial analysis, tax compliance, and the maintenance and continuous improvement of financial systems. The Finance Manager partners closely with cross‑functional leaders to ensure accurate data, strong controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. By delivering clear, actionable insights, this role supports strategic decision‑making, drives operational performance improvements, and enhances overall profitability.

- Lead, develop, and coach team members to ensure accuracy, efficiency, growth, and cross‑training within the team.
- Provide ongoing feedback, training, and mentorship to strengthen accounting knowledge, problem‑solving skills, and overall team capability.
- Foster a culture of safety by consistently following and reinforcing company safety protocols and procedures.
- Promote collaboration and strong communication across Finance, HR, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functional areas.
- Oversee daily transactional accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate A/P, A/R, billing, inventory, and other accounting processes.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close work prepared by the team.
- Serve as backup support for payroll processing to ensure continuity, accuracy, and timely execution, including review of payroll data and resolution of issues as needed.
- Ensure and develop adherence to U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies, including the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of controls and procedures.
- Support and guide the team members in resolving discrepancies, process issues, or system challenges.
- Support monthly and annual closing processes, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Lead analysis of manufacturing cost data, including material, labor, and overhead, to ensure accurate product costing and margin reporting.
- Monitor and analyze WIP, scrap, rework, and warranty trends, providing actionable insights to improve cost performance.
- Perform monthly COGS variance analysis and partner with Operations leadership to understand drivers and implement improvements.
- Develop, monitor, and update factory labor and overhead rates aligned with operational performance and cost structure.
- Track key cost categories such as warranty, projects, software, insurance, and other expenses to enhance visibility and support cost‑control initiatives.
- Prepare, provide, and analyze monthly financial reports and performance metrics for each department and business unit, delivering insights to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Educate and support non‑financial managers by explaining financial statements, cost drivers, and key performance metrics to improve financial understanding and decision‑making.
- Complete financial analysis to support capital investments (ROI, payback, NPV), business cases, and strategic initiatives.
- Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long‑range financial planning.
- Maintain and enhance financial systems, including troubleshooting, user support, data integrity, and continuous process improvement.
- Evaluate, recommend, and help implement new financial tools and technologies to improve reporting and operational efficiency.
- Support internal and external audit and income tax processes by preparing and reviewing schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation.
