Responsibilities:
- Produce all parts requiring programming, complex tooling, and setups while meeting or exceeding standards for quality, productivity, and safety.
- Plan work to make efficient use of time and skills.
- Inspect own work to established processes.
- Understand GD&T tolerances.
- Meet safety and good 5S practices.
- Follow all quality procedures and assist others in achieving their goals.
- Work effectively within a team.
- Set a positive example for others by focusing on productivity, added value, throughput, and profits on all jobs.
- Promote continuous improvement within the department.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as requested.
- Maximize setups and tooling for present and future jobs.
- Proficiently program, set up, and run CNC machines.
- Load parts into machines, run programs, remove parts, and inspect.
- Meet quality inspections.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Exhibit good communication skills.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM JOB:
- Lathes
- Milling machines
- OD & Thread Grinders
- Hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hammers)
- Forklift
- Hobing Equipment
- Pallet jack
- Ladders
- Computers
- Eye protection required
- Leather footwear required, ear plugs available
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Technical School graduate preferred or;
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar machine shop setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing for 10 hours per day (may work 10-12 hours per day).
- Walking up to 2 hours per day.
- Bending and squatting (to check parts) occasionally.
- Crawling rarely.
- Reaching out from the body up to 24 inches holding up to 20 pounds - rarely.
- Hand grasping continuously.
- Finger manipulation frequently.
- Push up to 35 lbs. force (carts, pallet jack).
- Carry up to 35 lbs. (parts and tools) 20 feet - occasionally, 100 feet - rarely.
- Lift at waist level up to 24 lbs. frequently/up to 50 lbs.
