Temporary Senior Accountant – Nonprofit; Federal Grants

Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote)

Duration: 60 days

Start Date: Monday, January 26 (projected)

Pay Rate: $45–$55 hour (depending on experience)

Our nonprofit client in Alexandria is seeking a Temporary Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations during a short-term project engagement. The organization manages an annual budget of approximately $10M and operates in a federally funded, grant-supported environment.

This is a hands‑on role ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable with core transactional accounting and reconciliations in a nonprofit setting.

• Process accounts payable and manage bill payments
• Record cash receipts and support accounts receivable activities
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare and record depreciation, prepaid expenses, and related journal entries
• Support general bookkeeping and monthly close activities as needed

• Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
• PN3

• Senior Accountant experience within a nonprofit and/or federal grants environment preferred
• Strong A/P, A/R, cash, and reconciliation experience
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to step in quickly with minimal ramp‑up
• Available to work a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite in Alexandria)

• Hybrid schedule: 4 days in-office, 1 remote
