As we continue to elevate the member experience, we are seeking an early- to mid-career professional to join our small, high-impact team as Manager of Member Services
. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, improving systems, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in the greater Washington, DC area to support in-person meetings, events, and team collaboration.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage all aspects of member recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and member services
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for members, ensuring a responsive and high-quality experience
  • Build relationships with members, Board and committee leaders, and partner organizations to support membership growth
  • Represent the association at partner organization events and industry gatherings for recruitment and retention purposes
  • Serve as primary staff liaison to the Member Services Committee and Young Professionals Committee, including:
    • Preparing agendas and minutes
    • Leading in-person and virtual meetings
    • Managing the Young Professionals mentorship program
    • Planning committee-related events throughout the year
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Board of Directors by coordinating communications and preparing meeting materials
  • Develop and deliver orientation and engagement sessions for new and prospective members
  • In coordination with the administrative assistant, maintain the membership database and manage dues invoicing and receipts

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including editing and proofreading
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software and systems

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2–3 years of professional experience preferred (internship experience considered)
  • Experience with an association, nonprofit, or association management company (AMC) preferred
  • Prior membership, customer service, or engagement experience strongly preferred
  • Interest in and understanding of the political system is a plus
