Position Overview
NACS is seeking a business analyst to help steward enterprise data across CRM, membership, finance, digital, and reporting systems. This role focuses on data governance, data hygiene, documentation, and business analysis - ensuring shared data is clearly defined, consistently maintained, and structured to support the organization. It is not a data engineering role; success depends on understanding enterprise data well enough to document it, question it, and coordinate its proper use across teams and systems.
The role is located onsite at NACS Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Serve as the business analyst and enterprise steward for shared data, translating business needs into clear definitions, ownership, rules, and documentation.
- Maintain the enterprise data dictionary, logical data model, systems-of-record documentation, and key data-flow documentation across major business systems.
- Identify and coordinate remediation of duplicate, incomplete, inconsistent, stale, or poorly structured data; establish repeatable data-hygiene practices with accountable owners.
- Review material system, field, workflow, and integration changes for impact to shared enterprise data and document requirements, mappings, ownership, and decisions.
- Partner with business teams, developers, administrators, consultants, and vendors to resolve data issues and keep governance documentation current.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined about documentation, follow-through, and maintaining a reliable source of truth.
- Able to turn ambiguous business requests into clear requirements, definitions, decision rules, ownership, and acceptance criteria.
- Comfortable asking detailed questions, challenging inconsistent assumptions, and facilitating decisions across departments.
