About Us: The Lafayette Company is a boutique political communications firm based in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. We specialize in providing strategic communication services to a diverse range of clients, with a focus on center‑right and conservative policy and political communities. We are currently seeking a highly skilled full‑time Director of Media Relations to join our growing team.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic media relations campaigns for corporate, policy, nonprofit and political clients
• Organize major media events and secure high‑profile placements
• Build lasting relationships with reporters, editors, producers and bookers
• Pitch op‑eds and coordinate media interviews

Qualifications and

Experience:

• 5+ years of national media relations experience
• Strong/current broadcast relationships
• Strong ties to center‑right/conservative policy communities
• Exceptional writer with proven placement success
• Self‑starter who thrives both independently and collaboratively
• Background in Capitol Hill, campaigns, think tanks, PACs, or nonprofits
• Willing to work in‑person with team in Old Town office with periodic travel
