Compensation for this role will be determined by several factors, including years of experience and direct involvement in supporting energy initiatives. The position may require relocation and periodic onsite work. We welcome applicants from across the country, provided they are flexible and willing to relocate and work onsite as needed. We are seeking highly experienced and motivated Systems Engineers to mature and lead systems engineering processes for directed energy programs. The position involves providing systems engineering support to the design, fabrication, testing/acceptance and delivery of systems, structures, components, and software. Individual will create and maintain system architectures, interface control documents, and technical roadmaps for directed energy technologies and ensure conversion of customer and/or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

• Requires a deep understanding of requirements development, architecture definition/decomposition, testing philosophies/methodologies, and verification coverage.
• Create and maintain system architectures, interface control documents, and technical roadmaps for directed energy technologies.
• Ensure conversion of customer and/or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability, and analyses for total systems.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Conduct trade studies, modeling and simulation, and performance analysis to inform design decisions and mitigate risks.
