We are recruiting an Engineering Technician to provide support to the client in an office environment with a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity. The Engineering Technician supports the client with developing, maintaining, and perfecting office floor plans. The Engineering Technician prepares concept plans for office renovations and layouts for furniture and equipment. They craft construction drawings and specifications suitable for contracting using AutoCAD software.
The Engineering Technician also maintains a database of space assignments, room numbering systems, and floor master plans, updating them when occupants move or when floor plans are adjusted.

- Prepare concept plans for office renovations.
- Prepare layouts for furniture and equipment.
- Prepare completed construction drawings and specifications suitable for contracting.
- Receive and investigate building trouble calls from ONR staff and coordinate with the Lessor’s Building Engineer staff to resolve problems.
- Assist the Facilities Engineer in management of facility projects.
- Review and update space assignments, room numbering systems, and floor master plans.
- Assist the Facilities Engineer and the Safety Officer in the correction of safety and environmental deficiencies.
- Research and present cost estimates for new furniture purchases.
Education and Experience: This position requires a minimum of an associate degree from an accredited institution in Engineering Technology and five (5) years of relevant experience as an engineering technician. The ideal candidate must also possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD to design and draft floor plans and room arrangements
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Organizational and planning skills, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, solid judgment, and decision-making ability, takes initiative and is adaptable.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Government Facility Access: This position resides on a military installation or within a government facility. Candidate must be able to acquire and maintain a Common Access Card.
