HII is seeking an imaginative and adaptable Junior Mechanical Engineer that is on schedule to graduate in May 2027 to join our fast-paced, interdisciplinary teams in our Alexandria, VA location. • Hands-On Design & Prototyping:
  Applying mechanical engineering theory and methods to a diverse portfolio of projects. This includes developing solutions like electromechanical devices, motion platforms, electronics packaging, and multi-spectral signature management (visible, NIR, thermal, acoustic, RF).
• DFM Focus:
  Utilizing a basic understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to ensure your designs are optimized for both subtractive and additive manufacturing methods.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  
  Working directly with senior engineers, technicians, managers, and end-user clients in small, close-knit teams. Regular communication is key to maintaining a flexible and highly adaptive engineering process.
• System Integration:
  Applying a basic knowledge of electrical applications to ensure all mechanical designs are suitable for seamless product integration.
