cgi is looking for a Director of Accounting, who would be responsible for providing financial and business analysis support for Company operations and reporting all findings directly to the President and others, as necessary.

This position requires experience in U.S. Government Contract Accounting. The role will lead all accounting, financial forecasting, and analysis activities for the Company and requires a highly independent, motivated, flexible, and results-oriented individual. The Director of Accounting will ensure compliance with GAAP and Federal Acquisition Regulations and execute the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the general ledger (data entry, reconciliation, monthly closing process and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP).
  • Manage/execute payroll in coordination with Human Resources. Prepare payroll labor distribution journal entries.
  • Manage/execute Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash flow.
  • Perform a variety of accounting and finance duties including aging reports A/R, A/P, reconciliations, assisting with financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Manage invoicing in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Establish and manage accounts with vendors and finance institutions.
  • Manage relationship with CPA firm for tax preparation and coordinate and assist with external accounting requirements including but not limited to: tax document preparation, and financial reviews and audits, as may be applicable.
  • Provide required reporting for company certifications.
  • Manage/execute annual local taxes and business license requirements. (BPOL) (PPT)
  • Responsible for maintaining accounting policies and procedures, and compliance with GAAP, FAR, and tax requirements, as may be applicable.
  • Manage evolving accounting functions/team members as the Company and requirements grow.
  • Analyze and develop new metrics/reports, to include Indirect rate calculation looking for trends and discrepancies.
  • Make suggestions regarding process improvements and assist with the implementation of new systems.

The following are requirements of the Director of Accounting:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; CPA or MBA a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of accounting or financial analyst experience with management and/or director level experience along a sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles – including experience in tax form reviews. Education can be substituted for years of experience in some cases.
  • Previous financial and GL accounting experience in analyzing balance sheets, income statements, and overall profitability.
  • Previous experience with U.S. Government Contract accounting.
  • Quick Books Pro and Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel experience.
