Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance is a strategic leader responsible for guiding the organization’s financial vision, ensuring long-term sustainability, and driving operational excellence. This role oversees all financial functions—including budgeting, forecasting, audit & compliance, reporting, risk management, cross‑department collaboration, and team leadership and development—while providing executive leadership with data‑driven insights to support informed decision‑making.

Financial Strategy & Planning
  • Assist the Executive Vice President, Finance with long‑term financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Support the development of financial strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to executive leadership.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead the coordination and development of the annual budget process.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and reporting.
  • Work with department leaders to ensure accurate, timely financial projections.
Financial Reporting
  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all regulatory financial requirements.
  • Review and finalize internal and external financial reports.
Accounting Operations
  • Supervise day‑to‑day accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure timely month‑end and year‑end close processes.
Audit & Compliance
  • Support internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Implement corrective actions and process improvements as needed.
Treasury & Cash Management
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity needs.
  • Assist with investment strategies, banking relationships, and debt management.
  • Oversee cash handling, reconciliation, and treasury functions.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage, mentor, and develop staff within the Finance Department.
  • Serve as acting CFO in the absence of the Executive Vice President, Finance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Partner with operations, HR, procurement, and other departments on financial matters.
  • Provide timely financial guidance to support organizational decision‑making.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and cross‑functional projects.
Education & Experience
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 7–10 years of experience in accounting, finance, management, and business administration
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Experience working in and supervising a comparable finance department
  • Experience and working knowledge of accounting software, including Sage Intacct, iMIS
