Closeout Billing Specialist

A growing DoD focused Gov Con is looking for a strong Closeout Billing Specialist to join their team! This role is a 6+ month contract opportunity with strong potential for conversion. Based in Northern, VA and going into the office just once a week.

• Execute end-to-end contract closeout activities in accordance with established procedures and supervisory guidance.
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation is maintained throughout the closeout lifecycle, maintaining full accountability of all contract files.
• Request and review obligation, funding, and payment disbursement reports from government customers or prime contractors.
• Analyze contract funding to confirm sufficiency for final billing and identify opportunities for de-obligation when applicable.
• Prepare and submit finalized closeout packages for supervisory review and approval.
• Collaborate with contracting officers, program managers, and project controls to reconcile final rates, resolve variances, and confirm all contractual deliverables are complete.
• Coordinate with subcontract administrators to ensure timely and compliant subcontract closeouts.
• Track progress and performance by preparing routine closeout status and metric reports.
• Record revenue adjustments as required to support accurate financial closeout.
• Process final invoices within Deltek Costpoint and submit invoices through government payment systems such as WAWF.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to evaluate subcontractor activity, funding status, and payment history to support closeout decisions.
