Job Responsibilities:
- Writes a comprehensive patient history by gathering appropriate information from patients, patients’ records and/or family members to include, but not be limited to, seizure types, date of last seizure and other neurological symptomatology and medications as documented in patients’ charts.
- Conducts procedures at Inova Health System affiliated hospitals as requested. Assumes responsibility for the safety and well‑being of patients at all times.
- Performs routine, ambulatory, neonatal exams, long‑term video electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials, SPECT scans, WADA's and Tilt table with video EEGs.
- Conducts Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potential studies by utilizing knowledge of audiology instrumentation and pattern recognition as well as Visual Evoked Potential studies.
- Education: High School or GED; graduate from an accredited program for Electro‑neurodiagnostic Technology and five years of experience in Neurodiagnostics or a Neurophysiological field is required; registry as an R.EEG.T., is required. One additional credential is preferred: R.EP.T. CLTM, CNIM. An Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university is desired.
- Licensure: None required.
- Certification: Basic Life Support Upon Start;
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Upon Start; registry as an R.EEG.T; successful completion of examination for registration by ABRET (Electroencephalograph and/or Evoked Potential) or completion of examination. - Experience: 5 years of experience in the Neurodiagnostic field in an inpatient or office setting. Experience performing advanced EEG/evoked potential studies.
