Surgical Technologist ; Surg Tech

Overview

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join the team. This role will be Full Time (36 hrs/week):
Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm during orientation then three 12-hour shifts (0700 - 1930) after with an on call required.

• The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique.
• Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional. Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.
• The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.
• Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

• Education
  :
  High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• Experience
  : 1 years of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent
• Certification
  :
  Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.
• License
  :
  Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required upon start
