Senior Network Administrator

Net Impact Strategies is seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to manage and maintain the agency's enterprise network infrastructure. You will oversee deployment, configuration, and support of Cisco routers, switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and cloud networking systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. In this key role, you will mentor junior staff, lead high-impact network initiatives, and deliver innovative solutions aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco network devices (routers, switches) and Palo Alto firewalls
• Monitor and optimize network performance to ensure high availability and efficient resource usage
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues including connectivity, security, and performance bottlenecks
• Apply patches, updates, and security configurations to network devices to maintain a secure environment
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate network solutions with systems and applications
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network administrators and IT staff
• Architect network infrastructure, including secure baseline configurations, implementation plans, and service deployments
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for Layer 2/3, wireless, VoIP, data center, and SDN Research emerging network technologies and assess their applicability and value to the organization
• Perform hardware installations and configuration support in on-prem data center environments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• CCIE certification, or at least 10 years of experience in LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, data center, SDN administration, engineering, and architecture
• Proven expertise with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
• Experience managing Palo Alto firewall configurations and security policies
• Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex network security, connectivity, and performance issues
• Strong documentation and analytical skills, with ability to architect and implement enterprise solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid architecture
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Cisco DNA Center)
• Certifications such as CCNP or cloud‑related network certifications
• Proven history of mentoring staff and leading complex network initiatives
