We are seeking a Data Scientist - Object Based Intelligence (OBI) Advanced Analytic Method Augmentation to support multiple DIA initiatives, including the Machine-Assisted Rapid-Repository System (MARS), Object Management Services (OMS), and Object-Based Intelligence (OBI). Work locations vary throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), with Reston, VA and Washington, DC being primary locations.
Responsibilities include:- Conduct data analytics, engineering, mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, using scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions.
- Proactively retrieve information from various sources, analyze it for better understanding, and build AI tools that automate certain processes.
- Create various ML‑based tools or processes, such as recommendation engines or automated lead scoring systems.
- Perform statistical analysis, apply data mining techniques, and build high‑quality prediction systems.
- Use data visualization and graphical applications, including Microsoft Office (Power BI) and Tableau; major data science languages, such as R or Python; manage and merge disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL; perform statistical analysis; and use data mining algorithms.
- Leverage knowledge of large data multi‑INT analytics, ML, and automated predictive analytics.
- Design, develop, and evaluate leading‑edge algorithmic intelligence concepts, practices, and technologies for implementation into all‑source analysis tradecraft, assessments, production, and dissemination.
- Propose advanced statistical or mathematical techniques and methodology that may permit identification and evaluation of alternatives, assist in model formulation or experimental test design, and share joint responsibility for development of advanced analytic techniques and assessments.
- Evaluate data science, artificial intelligence, and other advanced analytic methods for risks, biases, and limitations that would distort conclusions.
- Conduct continuous independent research on methods of analysis in government, industry, and academia to keep abreast of the state of the art, and keep senior leadership apprised of advances and applicability to programs.
- Utilize in‑depth knowledge of relevant theories, techniques, procedures and processes to investigate, prototype, and evaluate technologies to improve all‑source intelligence analysis.
- Provide technical input into and participate in the development of software and computer graphics systems.
- Perform research studies to understand the process of augmenting or automating all‑source analytic processes using various computer models.
- Provide incremental enhancements to tools, capabilities, processes, and methods.
- Possess in‑depth knowledge and experience in using data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, and scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions.
- Write either R or Python scripts to drive data science workflows, have experience using SQL, and manage and merge disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL; perform statistical analysis; and use data mining algorithms.
