Position Overview

This position serves as a Computer Support Specialist requiring enthusiastic customer service skills and strong technical skills. In this role you will image computers, prepare equipment for deployments, and perform computer installations.

In addition, you will participate with senior analysts in the configuration, testing, installation, documentation and maintenance of desktop/laptop systems and related peripheral systems and assist higher level staff in conducting training sessions for end users and staff. Essential Functions

• Under general supervision, serves as a Computer Support Specialist for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), performing technical work of an intermediate level of difficulty in Client Services and providing technical support and assistance to end users of multiple State of Illinois agencies, boards, and commissions, including participating with senior analysts in the configuration of personal computing devices.
• Provides intermediate level on-site and remote troubleshooting and support services for agency computer customers and equipment, including providing accurate and quality resolutions to users reported problems with computer hardware, software and related peripherals or services on a statewide basis.
• Transfers equipment from DoIT warehouse to staging operations area for imaging, validates equipment received against Service Now documents, and documents receipt of equipment in designated site logs.
