Leidos is seeking a F5 Load Balance Network Engineer to support a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. This role is responsible for implementation, operations, and maintenance of load balancer technologies in a global enterprise across multiple networks. Duties include updating to new technologies, tuning performance, and implementation of critical system patches. This infrastructure may include on-premises and cloud resources.
This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met for internal and external customers.
This position is now available in multiple locations and offers the opportunity to work from any of our key sites in Alexandria, VA, Reston, VA;
Tampa, FL; MD (undisclosed), Omaha, NE; or Millington, TN.
- Ensure Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) offloading and brokering PKI authentication features provided by the F5 appliance is operational at all times.
- Ensure load balancing configurations and PKI certificates are backed up in accordance with customer policies.
- Alert load balancing and reverse proxy customers prior to PKI certificate expiration and assist with certificate renewals as necessary.
- Create, manage, and troubleshoot load balanced IP address spaces.
- Develop and implement technical solutions in collaboration with engineers and architects.
- Provide after-hours support to 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with troubleshooting service outages.
- Develop and update technical solutions, operating procedures and other documentation for 24/7/365 IT Operations Center personnel to assist with initial troubleshooting and triage efforts.
- Experienced in administering and managing F5 load balancer appliances in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of standards, concepts, and tools to be able to complete technology monitoring and management of F5 appliances.
- Technical knowledge backing up PKI certificates and appliance configurations.
- Expertise creating, managing, and troubleshooting load balanced IP address spaces.
- Experience working independently in support of customer requirements.
- Experience interfacing with team members on requirements and solutions.
- Familiar with IT Service Management products such as Service Now.
- DoD 8140.03 (formerly DoD 8570) IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher)
- F5 Certified Administrator (201) or higher
- Bachelor's degree; candidates without higher education may be considered with additional relevant F5 experience or an F5 certification.
- US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.
- TS/SCI with Poly required for the position or TS/SCI with willingness to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
- T2 Level: Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, Associate's with 4+ years, High School Diploma with 6+ years, or Master's with < 2 years.
- T3 Level: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years, Associate's with 6+ years, High School Diploma with 8+ years, or Master's with 2 years.
- T4 Level: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years, Associate's with 10+ years, High School Diploma with 12+ years, or Master's with 6 years.
