Blaszkow Legal, PLLC is expanding! We are looking for another Paralegal to add to our growing office, fight for injured clients in Virginia and beyond, and emphasize the need for a bilingual paralegal (English and Spanish). A small, tech‑savvy team focused on outside‑the‑box solutions optimizes client recoveries. We handle cases ranging from modest to seven‑figure values and maintain a client‑centric approach that keeps five‑star reviews consistent.
JOB DESCRIPTIONA bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer‑service skills and be able to interact with clients from intake through all stages of litigation. Job duties include intake interviews, case investigation and preparation, medical record review, drafting and responding to correspondence, preparing pleadings and other court filings, and more. This full‑time position may occasionally require weekend or evening work.
COMPENSATIONBase salary ranges from $44,000 to $60,000 (depending on qualifications and experience), plus performance and participation bonuses. Additional benefits include PTO, BCBS health insurance, a retirement plan with employer match, and a professional development budget.
Bilingual CandidatesFluent in English and Spanish will receive a translation bonus of $2,000 (paid in two installments: after 30 days and after 6 months).
Responsibilities- Interview new clients and perform comprehensive evaluations of what has been done and what needs to be done.
- Actively review cases in pre‑litigation, ensuring that medical records are received and investigations are complete.
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, other staff members, etc.
- Evaluate cases, including determining potential for resolution and need for litigation.
- Brief and advise managing attorneys on case postures and outcomes.
- Draft pleadings, discovery, and motions.
- Perform administrative and other management functions related to the practice of law.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in law; experience in personal injury practice is highly desired.
- Familiarity with civil procedure (Virginia, Maryland, and/or DC).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- For bilingual candidates: must be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Working as part of a motivated team at all levels.
- Ability to learn under a 40‑year veteran of the legal profession.
- Continual training and guidance to develop as a professional staff member.
- Use of a simple file management system.
- Direction of associated staff members/working with trained office support personnel.
- Assistance in legal article publication/writing.
- Be the go‑to car accident and personal injury law firm in Northern Virginia.
- Provide personalized service that ensures our clients never feel left out or abandoned.
- Represent all clients aggressively, no matter case size.
