Bishop Ireton High School has an immediate opening for a part-time Annual Giving Manager at our campus in Alexandria, Virginia. The Annual Giving Manager plays a significant and collaborative role in the implementation of fundraising plans and activities that align with Bishop Ireton High School's mission. Duties include building strong and successful relationships, communicating with donors and other constituents, securing gifts for the BI Annual Fund, identifying potential campaign and planned giving prospects, and collaborating with the Advancement team and Head of School to effectively execute the Annual Fund efforts throughout the year.
The Annual Giving Manager will focus on managing the school's year-round fundraising plan for the Bishop Ireton Annual Fund, which includes goal‑setting, strategizing, and event planning that builds and engages the donor base. It also includes assisting with the Gala. This position works with the Head of School, Advancement Team, and Communications Team. It is a part‑time (20 hours per week), 10‑month position, reporting to the Director of Advancement.
- Advance the mission of Bishop Ireton through annual fund projects
- Stewardship of current donors
- Manage the Annual Fund Fundraising:
- Manage the Annual Fund mailing
- Manage the Head of School Circle and Cardinal Leadership Circle outreach
- Implement the Bishop Ireton Day of Giving
- Work closely with the Head of School, Advancement Team and Communications Team to develop and execute solicitations for the Annual Fund
- Conduct regularly scheduled donor cultivation outreach with Advancement Team
- Assist with Advancement activities, including:
- Homecoming/Reunion Weekend
- Alumni events for Bishop Ireton and St. Mary's Academy
- BI Gala
- Assist with prospect research and help to grow/enhance donor database
- Utilize Raiser's Edge for constituent needs and information
- Bachelor's degree plus demonstrated professional experience in fundraising. Working for a nonprofit organization is a plus, preferably a Catholic or independent school.
- Demonstrated experience soliciting annual gifts preferred.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience with media graphics and reports.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience organizing and managing direct mail campaigns preferred.
- Strength in organizational skills and attention to detail and functioning as a team player.
- Collaborative and flexible, willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as warranted by events or other advancement activities.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check and take required in‑person Virtus training.
