Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health Part Time Nights

Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Behavioral Health team. This role will be part-time night shift 7:00 pm – 7:00 am with a rotating weekend.

With the demand for behavioral health services continuing to grow, IMVH extended our 30‑bed behavioral health unit to 50 beds in mid‑2023. The new 20‑bed unit is designed with the specific needs of this specialized population in mind, and the current unit was also upgraded and modernized. IMVH behavioral health team received the 2021 Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience from Press Ganey, ranking in the 95th percentile among other healthcare facilities nationwide.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will communicate effectively with patients, families, team members, and medical providers. You will help achieve our mission by creating a collaborative team working environment and displaying respect for varied clinical disciplines. You will use a focused, integrated approach toward improving patient outcomes and experience of care delivery. Your participation in learning new knowledge, developing new skills, and meeting program objectives to practice in assigned patient care settings while applying new knowledge is essential.

Demonstrating a willingness to learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various training formats is required.

• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• BSN or ADN (if ADN, complete BSN within 5 years of start date).
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required.
• RN licensed and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal skills, caring demeanor toward others, and proficient computer skills.

• Inpatient Psychiatric experience preferred.
