Registered Nurse; RN PACU PRN

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Perianesthesia (PACU) Nurse. RNs will work pre‑ and post‑operative duties in Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery. This is a PRN (as‑needed) position covering shifts from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm. Applicants must be able to complete a minimum of four 10‑hour shifts within every six‑week period, two on‑call shifts within the same period, and participate in the holiday on‑call rotation.

The operating room is equipped with 11 surgical suites and supports a comprehensive range of specialties, including orthopedics‑total joints, sports medicine, spine, general surgery, ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, podiatry, and maxillofacial.

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience.
• BSN from an accredited nursing school. If an RN holds an Associate’s Degree (ADN), the BSN must be completed within five years of the start date.
• Valid RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS healthcare provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required at hire; ACLS and PALS must be completed within the first 90 days.

• Two or more years of PACU experience, with exposure to Pre‑Op, Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery.
