American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with 2+ years of critical care experience to care for complex neurological and critical care patients on a night shift schedule.

• 16-bed Neuro ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Patient population includes stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, increased ICP, hydrocephalus, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbation, acute heart failure, AKI, DKA/HHS, GI bleeds, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
• Titration of drips required including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine
• Unit supported by two clinical techs for 16 patients
• RT equipment includes mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Phillips telemetry monitors used; no dedicated tele/monitor techs, RNs read their own strips
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7PM-7AM
• Works every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating expectations include MSICU, PCCU, and boarding patients on the unit

• Active VA or compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required; cardiac experience not required
• Must pass an ECG exam on day two of assignment (pass/fail)

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and medical ICU patients
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major holiday (Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, or Thanksgiving/day after) and 1 minor holiday (Labor Day, 4th of July, or Memorial Day)
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Returning employees may be considered 12 months after their last shift worked
