* REPORTS TO:

** General Manager#
** PAY:** $20.00 /hour DOE + % commission
** CORE RESPONSIBILITES (include but are not limited to):
*** Create a training plan for the dog.
* Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.
* Be patient with a stubborn dog.
* Teach pet parents about dog behavior.
* Understand a pet parent’s needs.
* Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.
* Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.
* Listen to pet parent concerns.
* Performs add-on services as needed.
* Follows procedures for the safe handling of all pets.
* train staff members on proper dog handling techniques, body language, etc.
* work closely with management and marketing on promoting training department and community engagement.
* maintain a clean and safe working environment for the pets and staff.
** REQUIREMENTS:
*** Expertise &

Experience:

** Must be a pet fanatic – pets are part of our family!
* One year of professional dog training experience
** required.
*** Training certification preferred.
* Knowledge of various dog commands.
* Knowledge of different dog breeds.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to identify pet behavioral issues.
* Ability to create a plan of action for pet parents.
* CGC Evaluator, AKC Evaluator.
* Physical:
** Must be able to work evenings and weekends
* Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
* Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift.
* Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
* Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
* Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes
* Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.#
