The Director of Research and Evaluation is a CCUSA National Office-based staff member providing technical expertise and consultation on research design, survey development, data analysis, and evaluation methodology, while building organizational and network capacity. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Research and Evaluation, the Director works across CCUSA departments in furtherance of goals set out in CCUSA’s strategic plan ). The Director leads the development of agency dashboards, presentations, and grant evaluation reports to communicate Catholic Charities program and network impact.

This position fosters relationships with Catholic Charities agency staff and external partners, including research institutions, national associations, faith-based and community-based organizations, helping position the Catholic Charities network as a provider of evidence-based, mission-driven programming and CCUSA as a trusted research partner.

• Provide strategic support and direction for CCUSA’s research, evaluation and performance measurement priorities. Help CCUSA develop and implement a comprehensive research and evaluation strategy in support of CCUSA’s mission and values.
• Provide technical assistance and consultation related to data collection, evaluation methods, performance measurement, and reporting to PQI staff at the 170 Catholic Charities agencies in the network.
• Promote the integration of data from multiple systems to support comprehensive analysis and organizational learning. Aid in fostering collaboration among programs and services groups, finance, information technology, marketing, social policy and CCUSA leadership teams.
• Develop mechanisms for sharing lessons learned, best practices, and evidence-based recommendations to support the work of the Catholic Charities network. Collaborate with development and other Programs & Services teams to identify opportunities for external research funding and evaluation partnerships.
• Assist in operation of the newly formed Research and Evaluation Community of Practice.
• Direct data collection for CCUSA’s annual survey in collaboration with the Sr. Director and Sr. Manager of Research and Evaluation.
• Advise Programs and Services leadership on the use of research and evidence to inform planning.
• Help establish data quality standards and processes to ensure the accuracy, reliability, completeness, and consistency of network data.
• Aid CCUSA in the effective use of information technologies, including survey platforms, data management systems, statistical software, dashboards, and reporting tools.

• Collaborate with all CCUSA departments to advance research and evaluation priorities, inform national policy positions, support grant development, and communicate the CCUSA network’s impact.
• Supervise staff, consultants, interns, and project teams as needed.
• Operate as the Research and Evaluation point of contact with Catholic University of America.
• Represent Research and Evaluation on various internal committees.
• Assist in production of CCUSA Member Services reporting.

• Advanced knowledge of research methodologies, program evaluation principles, and research methods. Knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis techniques, sampling methodologies and measurement theory.
• Functional knowledge of relational databasing and database design.
