Position Summary

The Security Command Center Dispatcher monitors video surveillance systems, electronic access control systems, and other security and facility alarm systems to protect lives and property as assigned.

Pay

Rate: $26.27/hr; H&W $5.43

Available Shift

Friday‑Saturday 10 pm‑6 am

Responsibilities
  • Use approved radio language and ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Monitor and operate the CCTV system during assigned duty.
  • Receive routine and emergency calls for assistance.
  • Dispatch Protective Security Officers and appropriate supervisory personnel via radio or telephone to emergency calls in accordance with established rules and procedures.
  • Maintain the computerized operations log, ensuring accurate recording before tour completion.
  • Monitor motion intrusion and/or panic alarm computer systems and other alarm panels.
  • Respond to emergency 911 calls by providing dispatch services.
  • Ask vital questions and provide pre‑arrival instructions for first responders.
  • Maintain maps, checklists, and charts, including automated programs.
  • Operate and maintain multi‑line telephones, data processing equipment, printers, recorders, facsimile equipment, and other devices in the Security Command Center.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and records related to emergency responses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, in‑person attendance is required.
Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience as a dispatcher in security, law enforcement, or military settings, including monitoring, directing response, operating communications equipment, and compiling reports.
  • Preferred to have served as a supervisor in a dispatch center.
  • Valid unrestricted automobile driver’s license.
  • Citizen of the United States with a valid social security card.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Capable of passing a company and government background check, drug test, and Form 306.
  • 21 years or older.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with fellow employees.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to reach conclusions and approaches to problems.
  • Ability to use judgment and decision‑making skills to evaluate situations.
  • Ability to think quickly.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively through clear speech and hearing.

Working Conditions

Business work hours are 24/7. Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Part‑time – Saturday & Sunday 9 pm‑5 am (16 hours).

Physical Requirements
  • Sedentary work:
    Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Sedentary work involves extended periods of sitting while engaged with a computer terminal or phone.
  • Must have close visual and audio acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
  • Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract.
  • Travel may be required.
