Senior Software Engineer – MANTECH

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career‑ and customer‑oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The role involves designing and implementing services and components for AI applications.

• Develop, implement, and maintain full‑stack software solutions for AI‑enabled applications.
• Work closely with the Software Architect to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and integrate AI and ML capabilities on a cloud‑hosted data platform that supports significant market adoption, high performance, and strict access control and governance.
• Design and build prototype and proof‑of‑concept User Interfaces using modern UX/UI standards.
• Stay current with advancements in AI, machine learning, and software engineering, incorporating best practices into the development process.
• Perform system optimization, performance tuning, and assist in capacity planning.
• Perform proactive analysis of potential issues, risks, and roadblocks during system implementation and operations.
• Document software designs, code, and processes to ensure maintainability, scalability, and knowledge sharing among team members.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge transfer within the team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 or more years (7 with Master’s) of experience in software development, systems integration, data management, or related fields.
• Experience with configuring and developing in a major public cloud system such as Oracle, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience in programming and/or scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience with software development frameworks and tools (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Flask, Docker).
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Dev Ops tools and techniques for building integrations with external systems including Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Example tools include Jenkins, Git Lab, Ansible, Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation Templates.

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with data ingest and transformation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.

Must possess a current and active TS/SCI.

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
