E&M Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Mid Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, VA in support of the Defense Resources and Infrastructure Office (DRI). DRI's mission is to catalog and analyze military and civilian infrastructure and defense‑related resources that underpin a nation’s or group’s military capabilities-including transportation, logistics, defense economics, energy systems, arms trade, physical vulnerability to weapon effects, defense industries, and the operational environment-to support U.S. and allied planners, targeteers, warfighters, policymakers, partners, and acquisition official.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop, integrate, test, and maintain software capabilities from requirements through production delivery.
Work across the technology stack and collaborate with other engineers, architects, product owners, and mission stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable and maintainable software solutions.
Use modern development tools, frameworks, and cloud technologies to solve challenging technical and mission problems.
Develop backend services, APIs, data integrations, and user-facing capabilities while working within established application architectures and engineering standards.
Participate in technical design discussions, troubleshoot application issues, conduct code reviews, and contribute to improvements in software quality and maintainability.
Work alongside senior engineers to evaluate technical approaches, learn new tools and technologies, and continuously improve the team's development and delivery practices.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or additional software engineering experience in lieu of a degree and 4+ years of experience in software engineering, including developing, testing, integrating, or maintaining software applications
3+ years of experience developing applications using Python, Java, or another object-oriented programming language
2+ years of experience developing web applications using frontend technologies or frameworks, such as React or Angular
Experience developing or integrating backend services and RESTful APIs
Experience developing applications using relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and working with SQL
Experience working within Agile software development environments using methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Experience using software development and task management tools, such as Jira
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance at the appropriate level

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience developing production applications with Python
Experience developing enterprise web applications
Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures
Experience with AWS cloud-native or serverless application development
Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Cloud Formation
